What are the clearest, most helpful web-based resources on nanotechnology that you know of?
On February 8, we are hosting a conversation on the opportunities and challenges of nanotechnology, with three leading experts on the benefits, risks, and social/policy aspects of the technology.
And this is where I could do with some help.
On the event’s website, we are compiling a short list of key web-based resources on nanotechnology. The current list is a starting point only, and needs to be fleshed out considerably over the next two weeks.
If you have websites or web-based resources you find particularly helpful on providing information on the benefits, challenges, and nature of nanotechnology – including applications arising from the technology – please post them in the comments below.
We will be adding them to the Nanotechnology – Unplugged website as appropriate.
Thank you!

Thanks Teglan,

Not sure if it really counts, but I really value the Meridian Daily News Digest
nanodev@list.merid.org
I would love it if http://www.nanoandme.org made it as a useful resource for the public, but I sadly don’t think it registers. One day I may be able to afford to maintain it and then publicise it!
Thanks
HildaHilary (oops, to both of you!) – think Meridian has a website that links into the digest, but I’ll check. Will add Nano And Me anyway!
Cheers,
Andrew
You might find a useful item or two about nanotech risks at the website of the International Council on Nanotechnology: http://icon.rice.edu. Cheers!
I had a Great Aunt Hilda once!
In addition to those mentioned above:

The latter two are nanoeducation focused.

If you choose ‘Beginner’ and then “What is Nanotech” some good links and resources come up. This site in general appears to be a nice portal
I find the OECD’s database on nano-safety research very helpful when I want to know what research is going on (not just what’s been published)

This is also a fairly comprehensive entry-level summary of common nano-related questions:

We launched a Knowledge base ‘Nanomaterials’ in our project called DaNa – acquisition, evaluation and public-oriented presentation of society-relevant data and findings relating to nanomaterials.
Hopefully it’s useful for you: http://www.nanoobjects.info
